first sweep of the property:

  • Open all exterior windows for the duration of cleaning to ventilate the home
  • Gather any personal items/resident belongings that might have been left behind (check all rooms, cabinets, drawers, fridge/freezer, and closets). If items were left, report via messaging preference. Should we get no response, it will be bagged and left in a closet.
  • Dispose of anything that is not personal items or staging items (i.e., trash, partially consumed supplies)
  • Collect all dishes and utensils around the home and return them to the kitchen area
  • Assess overall cleanliness. If excess cleaning is needed, take photos and report via messaging preference.
  • Check for odor in all rooms. If odor is present, report via messaging preference.
  • Empty all trash cans and replace with new trash bags (do not put bags in recycling bins)
  • Confirm light bulbs are not burnt out; if they are, take photos and report via messaging preference.

KITCHEN:

  • Wash all dishes
  • Clean the sink
  • Clean the counters and interior/exterior of cabinets and drawers.
  • Clean all the doors and walls (including door knobs, baseboards, switches, and outlets).
  • Clean the fridge/freezer, interior and exterior.
  • Clean the oven, interior and exterior.
  • Clean the stove. Dry and screw back on stove burners.
  • Clean the floor under the fridge/freezer, stove, and oven (sweep, vacuum, and mop).
  • Clean the microwave (interior and exterior) and confirm it is plugged in.
  • Clean the toaster – empty any crumbs and wipe down exterior.

Please note that some odors may become ingrained in cabinets and may require multiple cleaning sessions. Watermarks and rings cannot be removed from countertops. Our staff will identify any burnt grease on stove and over, grout stains, mineral buildup, rust, and discoloration on appliances, sinks, countertops, and cabinets.

DINNING/LIVING ROOM:

  • Remove dust, wipe down, and disinfect all surfaces, artwork, and non-upholstered furniture.
  • Confirm no streak marks are left on glass surfaces (i.e. table tops).
  • Sweep, vacuum, and mop the floor, including under furniture and rugs (check for stains/need for carpet cleaning). If carpet cleaning is needed, take photos and report via messaging preference.
  • Vacuum and wipe down upholstered furniture. If upholstery cleaning is needed, take photos and report via messaging preference.
  • Clean underneath the couch and chair cushions.
  • Remove dust and clean all blinds and curtains.
  • Clean the fireplace (if applicable).
  • Clean all the doors (including door knobs, baseboards, switches, and outlets).
  • Remove dust and wipe down all lamps. Confirm they work.
  • Check the unmade bed for signs of pests, specifically bed bugs. If found, take photos and report via messaging preference

BATHROOM:

  • Collect all dirty towels and bath mat
  • Clean shower curtain, especially near the bottom. If the curtain needs to be replaced, take photos report via messaging preference.
  • Clean shower rod to remove any rust or mildew
  • Check shower/tub and sink area for mold and soap scum
  • Remove hair from sink and shower/tub drains
  • Clean sink. Scrub and rinse.
  • Clean toilet (inside and outside). Put the toilet lid down.
  • Clean counters and interior/exterior of cabinets and drawers
  • Clean all doors and walls (including door knobs, baseboards, switches, and outlets)
  • Sweep, vacuum, and mop the floor
  • Clean overhead fan/vent
  • Replace trash can liners

Hard water marks, calcium buildup, and mineral buildup on fixtures, shower doors, showers, tubs, counters, and shower walls may require multiple cleaning attempts. We’ll identify stained grout and suggest replacing any caulking or silicone with underlying mold. Discoloring or finish deterioration on tubs and shower floors will still look stained or dirty despite cleaning efforts. Persistent stains on tubs and floors will need several cleaning sessions to significantly reduce or completely remove them.
